Faisal is the founding director of Bayimba (Cultural Foundation). He developed a passion for arts and culture during his primary and secondary school times and acquired diplomas in music composition and performance and audiovisual production. He took on various positions in the cultural sector before establishing Bayimba Cultural Foundation in November 2007. As its director, Faisal was a fellow at DeVos Institute of Arts Management (Washington, US) from 2010 till 2012. He also attended various other trainings, including Academia Vitae (now CREARE Foundation) in the Netherlands (2009), the National Arts Fundraising School in the UK (2010), the Atelier for Young Festival Managers in Turkey (2011) and an Arterial Network Train-the-Trainer training (Kenya, 2012). He was a fellow at the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) and the Emerging Leadership Class of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) in New York/US in 2013 and a juror and award ceremony presenter at WOMEX in Cardiff, UK in 2013.
