Christopher Hibma has over 20 years of leadership in non-profit creative development and management. Since joining the Sundance Institute Theatre Program in 2005, he has overseen daily operations of the New York office and produced residencies around the world, including the Program’s annual Labs in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts, the high plains in Wyoming, outside the ancient city of Arles in France, in capitals cities and island venues in East Africa and in the Middle East/North Africa(MENA). Prior to the Sundance Institute, he served as the first Managing Director for Theater Latté Da in Minneapolis as well as General Manager for the Minnesota Boychoir. He has been on the directing staffs for Broadway’s The Lion King and numerous productions at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Christopher was a site visitor for the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative and also worked as a graphic designer a boutique firm in the Twin Cities. He lives with his husband, Harrison Thompson, in New York.
