Lindiwe Matshikiza: Comedian, writer, director, producer.
A rising star on the South African scene, Lindiwe began her career in 2005 after graduating with honors from the theater department at Rhodes University.
Since she started out, Lindiwe has continued to act throughout South Africa in shows such as The Famished Road, The Jungle Book, Closer and Bafana Republic, a satire on South Africa in which she acted ten different characters and was highly acclaimed by critics. As a director, she has notably produced Recess, which was created at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa (2007) and continues to be published today in New York.
As an active member of the South African theater community, Lindiwe works in several groups, including “The Framework” which is an improvisational theater group, “The Flare“, a group of filmmakers, and “Causing a Scene” which is an improvisation group that performs every month in Johannesburg.
Over the past years, Lindiwe has also worked extensively in the film and television industry as an actress for national and international productions, but also as a director for the television series Zone 14, which won the SAFTA. Lindiwe is currently working on a documentary, “One take Grace” which is the first step in a project called “Donkey child Projects”.
